A system

2022

A system is a wall-based installation composed of wax, steel wire, and chains. Small square wire frames are repeatedly dipped into melted wax and arranged into a grid on the wall. Each unit follows the same process, yet variations appear through accumulation and exposure.

Wax and steel meet through contact and suspension. The wax holds the surface, while the wire maintains structure. Chains connect selected units, extending the grid beyond the wall and pulling part of the system downward onto the floor.

The installation presents a system that is ordered but not sealed. Individual elements remain visibly linked, affected by weight, tension, and gravity. A System reflects on how bodies move within structures that appear uniform, and how deviation becomes visible through connection and pressure.
